Transfer Round-up (June 17): Matt Derbyshire likely to spurn Rotherham's offer | Billy Knott joins Gillingham

ROTHERHAM United striker Matty Derbyshire is set to reject a new deal with the Millers having lined up a move to a club in Cyprus.

The much-travelled forward was offered fresh terms by the club at the end of last season, but is now expected to head to the continent.

Manager Alan Stubbs is also waiting on answers from Kirk Broadfoot and Stephen Kelly, with news imminent about the duo.

Both defenders were recently tabled new deals along with Richard Wood, who re-signed earlier this week.

On the incoming front, the Millers are keen on signing released Celtic striker Anthony Stokes.

He played under Stubbs while on loan at Hibernian for part of last season.

Former Bradford City midfielder Billy Knott has joined the Bantams’ League One rivals Gillingham.

Essex-born Knott, 23, one of six players released by City at the end of last month, has signed a two-year deal.

He said: “It’s been a long time coming, me working with (manager) Justin (Edinburgh) – I went to soccer schools with him when I was six years old.

“I needed a manager who trusts me, knows what I’m about and somebody who can get the best out of me.”

Ex-Sheffield United defender Harrison McGahey has linked up with Rochdale, signing a two-year contract with the Spotland outfit.

McGahey, 20, who made just nine starts for the Blades last season, will officially join Dale on July 1 after his Bramall Lane contract expires.

York City have made their ninth signing of a busy close season, bringing in Crusaders defender Joshua Robinson.

The 22-year-old has penned a two-year deal at Bootham Crescent and follows the arrivals of Jack Higgins, Richard Brodie, Nick Kennedy, Tyler Walton, Alex Whittle, Shaun Rooney, Ben Barber and Ben Clappison.

Former QPR defender Clint Hill will arrive in Glasgow today as he closes in on a move to Rangers. The 37-year-old is set to undergo a medical after agreeing a 12-month deal. Gers boss Mark Warburton is looking to stiffen his defensive options ahead of the Light Blues return to the Ladbrokes Premiership.
