Transfer window: Campbell-Ryce exits Barnsley, Yeates joins Blades

BARNSLEY winger Jamal Campbell-Ryce is on his way to Championship rivals Bristol City after the two clubs agreed an undisclosed fee.

The 26-year-old arrives on a two-and-a-half year deal - subject to a medical - but will not feature until next Tuesday's league clash with Cardiff City as he is cup-tied in the FA Cup.

Campbell-Ryce moved to Barnsley in 2007 since when he has made 100 appearances, scoring 13 goals.

City manager, Gary Johnson, told the club's website: "Whenever he's played against my teams, he's always been their best player.

"he's an exciting player and we've brought him in to enhance our squad."

SHEFFIELD UNITED have completed the signing of winger Mark Yeates from Middlesbrough for an undisclosed fee.

Yeates, 24, put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half-year deal after a successful medical at Bramall Lane. He will not be available for the FA Cup clash at Bolton on Saturday after appearing for Boro earlier in the competition.

Blades manager Kevin Blackwell said: "He's a player we have looked at before. I've had my eye on him for a year or two but we couldn't agree terms with Colchester.

"I'm delighted to finally get my man, although I was surprised Boro would let him go."

HUDDERSFIELD have completed the signing of defender Krystian Pearce from Birmingham on a short-term deal until the end of the season.

Pearce, 20, has joined initially on an emergency loan, which will allow him to play in Huddersfield's midweek league clash against Bristol Rovers, before completing a permanent switch to the Galpharm Stadium on Wednesday.

Pearce, who joined the Blues as a 10-year-old but did not appear for the first team at St Andrew's, recently returned from a six-month loan spell at Peterborough.

The former England youth international is hoping to convince Town manager Lee Clark he is worth a longer-term deal in the summer.

Stoke striker James Beattie is among Wolves boss Mick McCarthy's potential targets during the January transfer window.

Former Sheffield United striker Beattie is understood to be interesting McCarthy, as is Hull midfielder Stephen Hunt.

But sources close to Wolves have played down reports that 31-year-old Beattie has already held talks with the club about a transfer.
