ROTHERHAM UNITED manager Paul Warne has revealed that a new signing should arrive at the club ahead of Saturday's home game with Charlton Athletic - and expects another newcomer to be confirmed over the course of the weekend.

The Millers chief, whose side visit Huddersfield Town in the Carabao Cup tomorrow evening, is targeting additions ahead of the transfer deadline and is understood to be close to signing a new centre-half.

Warne also revealed that he fielded an enquiry from a rival club about one of his players, but told the interested party that he was not available.

He said: “I am pretty imminent of getting one in before the weekend and I think I will probably get (another) one over the course of the weekend and probably lose two before the window shuts. I am pretty happy with that.

“I had someone phone me about one of my players yesterday who isn’t in my team, but is still part of what we want to do here, so I rejected that offer.

“I would expect, maybe before the window shuts, for us to get a few more phone calls.”

The Millers have no fresh injury problems for tomorrow night’s cup game.
