A deserved, albeit nail-biting 1-0 win over Championship rivals Sheffield Wednesday at Wembley saw Steve Bruce’s side return to the top flight confirmed - Mo Diame’s stunning strike proving enough to guarantee hero status among the Tigers’ faithful.

One of the main tasks facing Steve Bruce will be putting together a squad capable of surviving in the top flight, something which has taken on even more importance given the increased sums of money involved in the Premier League.

Bruce’s future itself still needs sorting out, although that may be dependent on when or if the ownership issue is resolved with American-based banker Peter Grieve believed to be leading a group of potential buyers.
