Wagner tips new recruit Palmer to excite Terriers fans

“I believe Kasey is one of the best young English talents and I think our supporters will enjoy watching him in the new Sky Bet Championship season,” said Wagner.

“He is a very skilful player with good football intelligence and we now have the time to work hard with him in training to help him understand our identity on the pitch.

“As I said about Danny Ward recently, I believe we can help Kasey make the next step in his career and send him back to Chelsea a better player once the season is over. I would like to thank everyone at Chelsea for allowing Kasey to come to us.”

New Barnsley striker Tom Bradshaw has revealed why he opted to move to Oakwell.

The 23-year-old completed his move from Walsall to South Yorkshire yesterday in a reported £600,000 deal, signing a three-year contract.

The Tykes beat off interest from neighbours Rotherham United to bag their man.

“I’m over the moon to get the deal over the line,” said Wales international Bradshaw.

“It’s a massive club. I’m very excited to get started, meet the lads and show them what I can do.

“I met him (Paul Heckingbottom) for the first time yesterday, he was brilliant.

“He introduced me into the way they like to play, their philosophy and what he expects from me this season, what he expects from the team, and his masterplan to attack the Championship.

“Obviously playing here a few times in the last couple of seasons, I know the fans are brilliant, the atmosphere is brilliant and it’s a club I want to represent and play for.”

The striker hopes his goals at Barnsley can help further his Wales ambitions too.

“That was one of the main reasons I wanted to play Championship football this year, to enhance my career, help Barnsley to kick on as high as we can go in the Championship and give the fans what they want to see,” he said.

“I like to think what I bring most is goals. I’m a natural goal-scorer, I like to get into the box and get on the end of crosses, passes, whatever I can do to get the ball into the net.”

Newcastle United are adamant they have had no contact from other clubs over big names Moussa Sissoko and Georginio Wijnaldum amid speculation the duo could be close to leaving the Magpies.

Sissoko has been linked with Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund and Wijnaldum with Tottenham in recent days with potential suitors hoping to cash in on the club’s relegation to the Sky Bet Championship.

However, it is understood Newcastle have not received a single formal enquiry about either player.
