Warnock joins QPR after Palace exit

NEIL WARNOCK has been confirmed as the new manager of Coca-Cola Championship side QPR after a compensation package was agreed with Crystal Palace.

Former Sheffield United boss Warnock has agreed a three-and-half-year contract at Loftus Road after Rangers made contact with the administrators at Selhurst Park.

"I am delighted to be joining a club with the history that QPR has," Warnock said.

"As a manager, Loftus Road is always a place I loved because of the fantastic atmosphere there.

"Looking from afar, I believe this is the perfect time for me to come in, with the new structure and chairman in place."

QPR are just three points ahead of third-from-bottom Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship.
