Warnock's exit could play into hands of Blades at Palace

Their last two results aside, Everton have been in outstanding form over the last few months and they should be able to record a comfortable win over Hull at Goodison tomorrow.

Hull have scored only seven away goals, conceding 34, and if this goes to form they will be no match for a team who have beaten Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United at home this year.

The Toffees do have some injury problems, but in players like Diniyar Bilyaletdinov, Mikel Arteta and Steven Pienaar, they have the quality to open up any defence.

There could be some value in backing any of those three players to score, or in looking for a 'Correct Score' outcome of 3-0 or 3-1.

A low-scoring match looks likely at Bristol City, where Doncaster are the visitors. City have tightened since suffering a 6-0 home defeat to Cardiff and their subsequent seven games have produced just 11 goals.

Doncaster are rarely involved in high-scoring affairs and their last seven games have produced only 12 goals. 'Under 2.5 Goals' is a short price at 4-6 but it could be a good accumulator selection.

Sheffield United may find that this is the ideal time to go to Crystal Palace, now that former Blades manager Neil Warnock has left Selhurst Park for QPR.

However, recent form makes it a risky business backing either of these teams to win, as Palace have lost their last three home league games and United their last four away.

Confirmation of Newcastle's promotion is surely a matter of time and Barnsley are next in the firing line at St James' Park, where United remain unbeaten in 17 games this season. The last three have ended 5-0, 4-1 and

3-0, so I will be backing 'Over 2.5 Goals' at 3-4.

Earlier in the season, Sheffield Wednesday went six games without scoring – a sequence which could be about to repeat itself. They have lost their last three without hitting the net, including their 5-0 capitulation at Reading last weekend. Visitors Leicester are unbeaten in eight and thrashed rivals Forest 3-0 a week ago. The Foxes are 6-4 to win, but should be shorter given their fine form.

Huddersfield were humbled

5-0 at Southampton in midweek but a different outcome should be expected from their trip to Gillingham. A reaction is likely from Town, who had won three in a row on the road before that trip to St Mary's. Gillingham have the best home defensive record in the division, so 'Under 2.5 Goals' at 3-4 is the pick of the bets.

Brentford have the best away defensive record in League One, so Leeds fans expecting an easy ride at Elland Road may be in for a surprise. Leeds have been grinding out results and have scored more than two goals in only one of their last nine home league games, so again 'Under 2.5 Goals' at 10-11 is the pick.

In League Two, Bradford visit Rotherham, with both teams looking to recover from midweek away defeats. Bradford have won two and lost two since Peter Taylor's arrival. The poor state of the Don Valley pitch makes it something of a lottery, so I fancy Bradford for a first away draw in over four months.
