The 29-year-old goalkeeper let Chris Smalley’s seemingly innocuous back pass from the half-way line squirt under his right boot as he attempted to trap the ball and then watched on as it trickled into the net. See the hilarious error below...

Hinchcliffe's teammates were left to rue the mistake as the game ended 1-1 at the former Football League outfit's Edgeley Park ground.

The draw came as a welcome relief for Harrogate who have only picked up five points in the league since October 5.

In that time, Simon Weaver's men have dropped to tenth place having started the season as one of the favourites for the title.

Stockport had beaten Harrogate 1-0 on Boxing Day and are seven points above them in eighth place.
