Wilson in attacking approach as Robins aim to complete job

Swindon TOWN manager Danny Wilson believes his side will have to score at The Valley tonight if they are to book their place in the League One play-off final at Wembley.

But they are likely to have to do so without 26-goal leading scorer Billy Paynter, who missed out on Friday's 2-1 first-leg win with a hamstring strain and remains a major doubt.

Wilson said: "We're going there very positive, we're not just going there to sit on our hands and hopefully get a result. We have to be as positive as we were on Friday.

"We've been away from home this year and scored some very good goals to win games. We're going to have to do that again, I'm sure, when we go to Charlton. I don't think it will be 0-0.

"This game's up in the air at the moment, what we will be looking for is the same approach that we had on Friday night.

"We have got a slight advantage at the moment. It's not a great one, but it's better having that than being 2-1 down."

The Robins missed a host of chances at the County Ground to add to their lead.

But Wilson added: "Winning 3-1 possibly might have given us a little bit of complacency that we didn't want, thinking the tie's over, but it never would be.

"So 2-1 might just do us a favour. It might just keep us on our toes, it might just keep us focused."

Charlton, aiming to return to the Championship at the first attempt, have seen two relegations in three years take their toll and the financial situation at The Valley is far from secure.

"Everyone knows it's a hugely important game for the club," said chairman Richard Murray.

Club directors had to inject 7m earlier this season to cover running costs and last month they cashed in on Jonjo Shelvey, with Liverpool agreeing to pay up to 3m for the teenage star.

That could prove to be a false economy as Shelvey was the one Addicks player who could conjure up a piece of magic to turn such a high-stakes match.
