BARNSLEY manager Danny Wilson has confirmed he will be at the club next season - regardless of whether the Reds are relegated or not.

Wilson is planning for the future, having added Barnsley-born Mark Crossley to his backroom staff, with the former Nottingham Forest custodian having been made named as the club’s new goalkeeping coach following the decision to part company with Ian Willcock.

At the start of the week, the Reds chief brought in Chris Hutchings as his new number two after Micky Mellon left the club, with the Oakwell outfit keen on looking towards the long term under Wilson.

On whether he will be at Oakwell next season, Wilson, who took over for the second time at the club in December, with his contract deal not disclosed, said: “Yes. “I have enjoyed every minute since I have come back and we are going to build it back up to where we want it to be.

“It may take time, but we’ll get there and I am very much looking forward to it.

“But there is a ‘little’ job to do first and foremost and if we can stay up, it will be absolutely brilliant.”
