Yeovil 0 Huddersfield Town 1: Clark delight at Terriers win

HUDDERSFIELD manager Lee Clark praised one striker and was angry with another.

After Nathan Eccleston, initially on a month's loan from Liverpool, snapped up a lone-goal winner at Huish Park, Clark revealed he had banned Theo Robinson making the trip to Somerset and also fined him.

"Theo was in the starting XI on Thursday but then was over an hour late for training. You have to be disciplined and do the right things," said Clark.

"As far as I'm concerned it's forgotten now. I'll see him on Monday with a smile on my face and I hope he also has a smile. I have a lot of time for the boy."

Clark said of junior international Eccleston, 19, who finished neatly on 23 minutes after Jordan Rhodes's shot had been blocked: "He couldn't have had a better debut. He was bright, positive and linked well with Rhodes until he got a gash on his knee."

Clark was pleased with the debuts of fellow loanees Neil Trotman, a centre-back from Preston, and Australian international left-back Dean Heffernan as Town chalked up a double over the Glovers. Clark said: "It was what an away performance should be like – determination, grit, desire and application from everyone."

Town dominated the first period but survived when Trotman tripped Ryan Mason and Dean Bowditch lofted the penalty over just before the break.

Yeovil then proved a tougher proposition but could not break through, though Alex Smithies had to pull off some fine saves.
