York City stay bottom of League Two after slumping to defeat against fellow strugglers Newport.
The all-important goal came after just eight minutes, Aaron Collins fired home into the bottom corner.
Dave Winfield and Vadaine Oliver went close for an equaliser.
Defeat means York are three points off safety, while Newport now have a six-point gap over the drop zone.
