Accrington 3 York City 2: McNamara suffers opening loss

York City.

York City crashed out of the FA Cup at the first hurdle with defeat at Accrington Stanley.

In manager Jackie McNamara's first game in charge, Sean McConville edged Stanley in front before York striker Vadaine Oliver equalised.

Goals from Matt Crooks and Josh Windass - a penalty after after Billy Kee was fouled - put Accrington in charge.

Michael Coulson's late header proved only a consolation for the Minstermen.
