Altrincham 0 York C 0: Ingham on form to earn York their share

YORK CITY were thankful to three fine saves from Michael Ingham, for a share of the spoils last night.

York’s best chance fell to James Meredith but he shot over with only the goalkeeper to beat. Altrincham should have won the game a minute from time when Michael Twiss shot wide of an open goal.

It took a fine save by Ingham from Damien Reeves to stop York from falling behind in the 13th minute before the visitors went close when Peter Till’s powerful header was headed off the line.

After the break, Reeves forced Ingham into another save and then Meredith shot over for York.

Ingham then kept out an effort by Nicky Clee before Michael Twiss missed an open goal late on.
