York City squandered the chance to put a bit more daylight between themselves and the bottom two after a disappointing defeat at home to fellow League Two strugglers Barnet.
The Minstermen are seven points clear of the relegation zone but have played more games and are drastically short of form.
The game pitted two former European Cup winners against each other in York’s former Nottingham Forest manager Gary Mills and Barnet’s ex-Ajax star Edgar Davids.
Michael Rankine gave Mills’s side the lead in the seventh minute.
But Barnet levelled shortly afterwards when Andrew Yiadom scored from close range.
And Jake Hyde completed a turnaround with Barnet’s second on 73 minutes.
