Northampton Town v York City: Wilcox aims to build in topsy-turvy league
This is the view of Russ Wilcox, whose York City side travel to Sixfields today looking to build on last weekend’s morale-boosting win over Tranmere Rovers.
York have been as likely as anyone in the basement division when it comes to following up an abject display with an impressive one.

Wilcox said: “Chris (Wilder) got a real shock in December when they lost five on the spin. But then, in January, he ended up getting the Manager of the Month.
“This just shows what the division is like. One minute you are up, the next you are down. Credit to the people at Northampton for sticking with Chris, but it shows what management can be like.
“We had a good win last week. It was important for us. But we can’t get carried away as there is a lot of work to do.

York moved out of the bottom two and up to 20th, but then slipped a place in midweek when Mansfield Town beat Luton.
Wilcox added: “There will be twists and turns. I was at Mansfield in midweek. They were good in the first half, but then Luton came right back into it.
“A draw probably would have been fair ,but Mansfield held on.
“Results like that show how unpredictable the division can be. Now we have to push on.”
