Norwood’s ambitions lead him to join Town

HUDDERSFIELD Town have beaten off competition from Yorkshire rivals Barnsley to land Manchester United midfielder Oliver Norwood on a three-year deal.

Manager Simon Grayson said: “Oliver turned down a number of clubs to be a part of our team and I believe he will be a key player for us. Manchester United offered him a new deal but he wanted to leave to pursue his career which says a lot about him.”

Northern Ireland international Norwood, 21, played Championship football last season on loan with Scunthorpe United and Coventry City.
