Verdict: The pattern for the season was set with a 3-0 defeat at Wycombe on the opening day. Russ Wilcox was hopelessly out of his depth managing at Football League level and was rightly relieved of his duties after the Wimbledon defeat. Whether that was too late remains to be seen. New manager Jackie McNamara has an enormous job, as we are now one of three clubs cut adrift at the foot of the division.

Where this season has gone right/wrong: We have too many slow and sub-standard defenders. As a result we’re conceding goals for fun.

Best moment: There hasn’t been one, so, hopefully it is still to come!

Lowest moment: The whole season has been dreadful.

Best and worst opposition teams: Accrington looked very good. Yeovil were very poor.

What needs to be done in the transfer window: Solid, experienced defenders.

Predicted finish: Unless the defence is sorted in the window, relegated.
