THE regular season is now over in the Football League - and holidays now beckon for seven of Yorkshire's teams, although serious business is on the agenda for Hull City, Sheffield Wednesday, Barnsley and Bradford City.

So what of the last programme of the season over the weekend. Who stood out in the sun and who was in their flip-flops?

Here is the last Yorkshire Team of the Week for 2015-16

Stepped out of the shadows impressively – and made four excellent stops at Morecambe. A small crumb of comfort in a forgettable campaign.

2: Moses Odubajo (Hull City)

Made some barnstorming driving runs and heavily involved on the day for Hull.

Ended an excellent campaign with another consistent performance at Deepdale. Can be proud of efforts in 2015-16 despite another decidedly average campaign for Leeds.

4: Mark Roberts (Barnsley)

Has enjoyed an exemplary 2016 thus far and was commanding and rock-solid at the DW Stadium. It’s been second half of the season for the strapping defender.

5: Daniel Ayala (Middlesbrough)

Won countless headers and put his body on the line as he and Ben Gibson comprehensively snubbed out the threat of Brighton duo Tomer Hemed and Sam Baldock when the stakes were sky-high in the £170m match on Teesside. Thoroughly resolute.

6: Lee Evans (Bradford City)

Sumptuous strike from the midfield man to follow on from key strike on the previous weekend. Could have netted several more against woeful Chesterfield and the loanee could have easily taken home the matchball.

7: Ahmed Elmohamady (Hull City)

In an up and down season, the Egyptian showed welcome signs of a return to form at an opportune time ahead of the play-offs. Three assists in Hull’s mauling of the Millers.

8: Jake Livermore (Hull City)

When he plays well, Hull invariably do. Powerhouse performance which yielded two sweet goals.

9: Sam Winnall (Barnsley)

Showed his big-game credentials, even though the day didn’t start well at Wigan which he made a sloppy pass which led to an opener for Wigan. Sunshine and roses after that with two goals - including an ice-cool penalty.

Another Hull player who rewound the clock with a strong and imposing display. Found the net to take his seasonal tally to nine and could have netted a few more.

11: Cristhian Stuani (Middlesbrough)

Wholly justified his inclusion ahead of Stewart Downing with a massive - and ultimately decisive - opener for the Teessiders. Would have added another but for a fine block by Connor Goldson.

Manager: Paul Heckingbottom (Barnsley)

In his first foray in management, the 38-year-old - after presiding over the Reds’ magnificent Johnstone’s Paint Trophy success - has now taken Barnsley to the play-offs for the first time in a decade. Simply outstanding.
