City captain Carlos Tevez faces a late fitness test after suffering a knock in midweek when Argentina defeated Spain.

Blackburn could give a debut to former Manchester City striker Benjani Mwaruwari.

Newcastle (8) v Blackpool (12)

Newcastle boss Chris Hughton could hand debuts to three of his summer signings, Sol Campbell, Cheik Tiote and Hatem Ben Arfa. Striker Andy Carroll has resumed training after an ankle injury.

Marlon Harewood is back in training after sitting out Blackpool's home draw with Fulham due to an ankle injury. Former Leicester front man DJ Campbell might be handed a place in the starting line-up.

West Brom (16) v Spurs (11)

West Brom could be without creative midfielder Graham Dorrans due to what manager Roberto Di Matteo calls "personal reasons". Fellow midfielder James Morrison is suspended.

New signings Rafael van der Vaart, William Gallas, Sandro and Stipe Pletikosa could all make their Spurs debuts. Jermain Defoe has been ruled out for "around three months" after undergoing surgery on torn ankle ligaments.

West Ham (20) v Chelsea (1)

Avram Grant could hand West Ham debuts to striker Victor Obinna and right-back Lars Jacobsen. Robert Green has recovered from hip surgery.

John Terry is fit after suffering a hamstring injury but Frank Lampard needs more time to recover from hernia surgery.

Wigan (17) v Sunderland (10)

Charles N'Zogbia is set for a possible Wigan return. Goalkeeper Chris Kirkland is available having also missed the victory at White Hart Lane.

Sunderland could give a league debut to record signing Asamoah Gyan who is available for the first time since completing his 13m-plus switch from French club Rennes.

New signing Alexander Hleb faces a wait for his Birmingham debut after suffering a leg injury when on duty for Belarus in their midweek Euro 2012 qualifier with Romania. Fellow transfer deadline signings Jean Beausejour and Martin Jiranek will come into contention.

New Liverpool signings Paul Konchesky and Raul Meireles are set to make their first appearances in Roy Hodgson's squad.
