Fox-Pitt back in England as rider’s rehabilitation continues

Former world No 1 eventer William Fox-Pitt has returned to England as he continues 
his rehabilitation from the 
head injury he suffered last month.

Fox-Pitt, pictured far right, who is also a three-time medallist in the team events across three Olympics, fell at the World Young Horse Championships on October 17 and has been treated at a hospital in France.

A statement from British Eventing confirmed the 46-year-old “continues to make really good progress” and was well enough to fly back home on Monday, where his rehabilitation will continue.

“His recovery is likely to take time, but he is up and about and improving day by day,” said his wife Alice.

“We are exceptionally grateful for the huge amount of support we have received.”

l Scarborough-based horse rescue and rehoming Charity All For Horses are holding equestrian tabletop sale on Thursday, December 3 at Church Becks Hall in Scalby.

The event is open to the public between 6pm and 7pm with sellers setting up at 5.15pm. Car parking and admission is free while refreshments are also available.

All For Horses’ Cathy Edwards said: “We already have several tables booked and there will be a good variety of useful horse equipment on sale at bargain prices – saddles, bridles, rugs, riding equipment etc.

“It only costs £5 to book a table to sell your surplus horsey items but pre-booking is advised as spaces are limited.”
