Free-running Wharfedale pretty in pink

Wharfedale played in pink socks to support the Candlelighters charity and an under 10 player, Tom Slater, who is recovering from a rare cancer of the liver.

And they produced a winning performance, defeating Cinderford 32-21 thanks to superb play in the backs.

Dan Solomi’s offload put James Doherty in for Dale’s first try. Josh Burridge scored Dale’s second before Adam Howard crashed over for a third unconverted try, while James Moffatt kept the visitors in touch with three penalties.

Dale’s backs then started to cut loose. A tremendous return from Taylor Prell and excellent work from Oli Cicognini set up Lloyd Davies for Dale’s fourth. Cameron Hudson then broke through and fed Cigognini who dived in at the corner.

Another run from Prell was followed up by Doherty before feeding Dan Solomi for a well deserved sixth try for Wharfedale.
