Frustrated Mitchell out for two weeks

ICE HOCKEY: Unlucky Hull Stingrays defenceman Craig Mitchell faces two weeks on the sidelines after suffering a recurrence of a shoulder injury.

The 20-year-old Scot returned to the Hull line-up for Saturday night’s 2-1 home defeat to Coventry Blaze after missing three games with shoulder ligament trouble. But he aggravated the problem in Sunday night’s 3-2 defeat at Hull Arena to mid-table Elite League rivals Braehead Clan.

Mitchell, who spent two months out earlier in the season with a broken arm, said: “It has been a frustrating season and this is just another setback. I don’t want to keep aggravating it and then one day down the line end up needing surgery.”
