A Neil Mellor hat-trick helped Wednesday beat MK Dons in League One, while two late goals from Ched Evans and Daniel Bogdanovic gave the Blades victory over Crystal Palace in the Championship.

Bogdanovic's old club Barnsley beat Portsmouth at Oakwell, while Robert Koren earned Hull all three points against Ipswich.

Leeds United and Doncaster Rovers were pegged back against Swansea and Norwich, respectively, as they were forced to settle for 1-1 draws.

Huddersfield Town crashed to a 1-0 defeat at home to Exeter in League One, as did Bradford City for the visit of Macclesfield in League Two.

But there were away wins for Rotherham United, at Crewe, and York City at Rushden and Diamonds.

Neil Danns (17) put Palace ahead from penalty spot, before Richard Creswell converted a Blades penalty before half-time. James Vaughan restored visitors' lead before late goals from Ched Evans and Daniel Bogdanovic nicked the points for the Blades.

Richard Duffy (36) put visitors ahead against run of play and they clinged on for an unlikely victory.

MK Dons 1 Sheffield Wednesday 4

Mark Carrington (6) put hosts ahead, before Neil Mellor (22) equalised and a Luke Chadwick own goal (27) gave Wednesday the lead. Mellor completed his hat-trick in second half.
