Golden boy Pearson saddles up for top fund-raiser in Leeds

LEE Pearson, the leading British para-equestrian dressage rider, will be lending his support to a major fund-raising event in Leeds on Sunday, July 10.

As patron of the Elisabeth Svendsen Trust for Children and Donkeys, he will be at the charity’s Eccup centre for their biggest fund-raising event of the year, the summer fair.

The EST provides donkey riding therapy for children with special needs and disabilities and it is a charity close to his heart.

Pearson recently suffered several fractured vertebrae after a fall from his horse during a training session. This ruled him out of the running for selection for the European Championships in September.

He has won nine Paralympic golds and is keen to get back into training again as soon as possible. But, in the meantime, he is busy teaching and as well as opening the EST fair, which attracted 4,000 visitors last year, he will be spending the day at the centre.
