Hallamshire’s Barclay Brown doubles up in losing cause for Yorkshire Boys

HALLAMSHIRE’S Barclay Brown emerged with wins in both singles and foursomes as Yorkshire Boys faced their Lancashire counterparts at Wetherby GC.

But he was the only one of Yorkshire’s 12 players able to achieve the feat as Lancashire took overall victory, 10.5-7.5

Lindrick’s Bailey Gill and Charlie Daughtrey (Rotherham) both finished unbeaten.

Gill halved his foursomes match alongside Lindrick club-mate Greg Denton and then won his singles by one hole against James Broadbent (St Annes Old).

Daughtrey won in the foursomes alongside Brown and then shared the honours in his singles meeting with Royal Birkdale’s Ethan Davies.

Matthew Raybould (Bridlington) and Wakefield’s Dan Bradbury were Yorkshire’s other foursomes pairing to pull in a full point as they lost the session 3.5-2.5.

Other White Rose singles winners were Nathan Fell (Lindrick) and Aaaron Nairn (Rotherham), while Fulford’s Matthew Roberts recorded a half as Lancashire took the afternoon honours 7-5.
