Sheffield juniors triumph in Yorkshire Inter District Union championship at Rudding Park GC

SHEFFIELD won the Yorkshire Inter District Union junior golf championship at Rudding Park GC.

Doncaster’s Jack Hughes (40), Declan Stoppard (36) and Cameron Newman (34) brought in the best two ball score of 76 points.

Bradford, in the shape of Rawdon trio Elliott Rostron (40), Dan Payne (34) and Kieron Donahue (33) were second on 74, just ahead of York, for whom Pike Hills’ George Atkinson (37), Tomas Whittaker (35) and Alfie Atkinson (34) scored 72.

Other scores were:

68 - Halifax-Huddersfield (Huddersfield’s Nathan Sampson 35; Kaylem Billy 33; James Sweeney 17).

67 - Harrogate (Romanby’s Harrison Downes 37; Matthew Driscoll 30; Will Syddall 25).

65 - Leeds (Wakefield’s George Heath 34; Daniel Bradbury 31; Ewan Bromley 30).

64 - Teesside - (Middlesbrough’s James Swash 33; Bradley Jenkins 31; Freddie Foden 30); East Riding (Hull’s Alex France 36; Ellis Rimmington 28; Aaron Brettell 28).
