EAST Riding's John Page was an emphatic winner of the Yorkshire Inter-District Union Past Presidents' Re-Union Trophy at Forest Park.

The 13-handicapper totalled 45pts to win by five from runner-up Kit Chapman, also playing off 13 and also representing the East Riding Union.

Halifax-Huddersfield's Stuart Naylor placed third on 38pts, with Geoff Drewery (East Riding) edging Leeds Union's James Denton to take fourth place on count back with 37pts.

The best team score, with the three best union presidents' scores counting, was not surprisingly produced by East Riding, who amassed 122pts through Page, Chapman and Drewery.

Halifax-Huddersfield, led by Naylor, took second, David Pullen and Philip Thompson helping them to a 102pt tally.

Sharing third on 101 were Bradford (Ian Wilkinson, Ian Brogden and Terry Collins) and Harrogate (Ian Smith, Jeremy Dexter and Richard Helliwell).
