Yorkshire quintet’s tilt at Brabazon

Scott Campbell (Hallowes), Craig Smith (Pike Hills), Nigel Colbeck (Moor Allerton), Daniel Wasteney (Bondhay) and Matthew Fitzpatrick (Hallamshire) were among the 30 players who qualified for the Brabazon Trophy at last week’s northern qualifier at Pannal.

The Brabazon Trophy will be held at Burnham and Berrow from June 23-26.

Yorkshire look to continue their 100 per cent start to the Northern Counties season when they host Cheshire at Selby on Saturday.

Defending champions Bradford got off to a strong start in the Yorkshire Inter-District Union League with a 26-10 win over Halifax-Huddersfield.

Leeds edged out York 20-16, East Riding convincingly defeated Teeside 30-6 and Sheffield prevailed 23-13 at Harrogate.
