Now the possibility is reality after Sheffield’s Danny Willett won a coveted green jacket in a dramatic finale to the first major of the year.

On this video Plaxton talks about both Willett and the new Masters champion’s fellow Sheffielder Matt Fitzpatrick, whose burgeoning skills were forged as Yorkshire amateurs.

Both the European Tour title winners came through the county’s ranks and Plaxton commented ahead of the event: “They are two fantastic golfers and two fabulous young men whom I’ve spent a lot of time with and I would dearly love to see one or other of them wearing the green jacket.”
