Grand National: Another runner for Sue Smith

SUE SMITH will have a second runner in the Randox Health Grand National.

National hopes: Trainer Sue Smith with jockey Ryan Clavin on Delusionofgrandeur and Sam Coltherd on I Just Know. Picture: James Hardisty

Delusionofgrandeur made the 40-runner cut before the 1pm deadline after top weight Minella Rocco, and then Vicente, were pulled out because of the heavy ground at Aintree.

Yorkshire-born jockey Henry Brooke takes the ride on the horse who runs in the colours of the McGoldrick Racing syndicate run by Leeds owner Richard Longley.

Smith’s other runner is I Just Know, who won the North Yorkshire National at Catterick in January. He’ll be ridden by stable jockey Danny Cook.

Bingley-based Smith, and her husband Harvey, are seeking a second success after Auroras Encore won five years ago.
