The National Two North club, who visit Luctonians on Saturday, had hoped to be in the £3m facility in January.

However, they will now stay at Claro Road for a further couple of months due to some unavoidable issues.

“Following a meeting with representatives from Crest Nicholson it is now clear that, in addition to some concerns as to the delivery of the grounds, the principle delay is the completion of the mains services connections to the clubhouse,” said Harrogate chairman James Smithies, who is interviewed extensively in tomorrow’s The Yorkshire Post.

“Crest have, therefore, proposed that practical completion and handover be deferred to the 1st of March.”

BATH have confirmed Dewsbury-born ex-Bradford Bulls star Sam Burgess will make his first start for the club on Friday night in their European Champions Cup game against Montpellier.

He will line up at inside centre at the Recreation Ground after two appearances off the bench since he recovered from a fractured cheekbone injury suffered during Australia’s NRL grand final in early October.

The 25-year-old will be partnered by Jonathan Joseph as Bath look for a Pool Four victory over Montpellier after beating them 30-5 in France last Friday.
