Hartlepool United v Leeds United: Naylor quick to switch Leeds focus

League one: RICHARD NAYLOR believes Leeds United's FA Cup exit could work in the club's favour.

Leeds were knocked out on Wednesday night by Tottenham as Jermain Defoe's third hat-trick of the season settled the fourth-round replay.

United's focus shifts to a trip to Hartlepool where victory could see Simon Grayson's men draw level with Norwich City at the top. Naylor said: "The league is our bread and butter, so we have to get back to that now. Promotion is the aim and, in that respect, maybe Wednesday night was the right result.

"It was unlikely we would go on and win the FA Cup so now we can focus on getting out of this league. If we do that, we will be playing in front of 30,000 every week next season.

"At Hartlepool, our fans will be there in great numbers again. They have enjoyed the FA Cup run and going to places like Old Trafford and White Hart Lane. But they also know what really matters this season."
