Four wins from seven games – five of which have been away – may not have improved City's position from 16th but there can be no denying the lifting of the mood at Valley Parade by a manager who is determined to earn a contract extension.

Hide AdTaylor said: "It is important to end the season on a high. If you are a salesman, you want to sell season tickets on the back of something positive.
"One thing for sure, if we can end the season strongly then it will be an easier pitch."
City are looking to claim a first league double of the season and Taylor added: "I have been pleased with the progress that we have made."
