Hereford United v Rotherham United: Moore setting sights on Wembley glory

League two: RONNIE Moore has rubbished talk of sending a Rotherham United reserve side to Hereford.

After booking a place in the play-offs last weekend, Millers manager Moore admitted that he would rest a number of players for the final league game at Edgar Street.

Striker Adam Le Fondre will not play along with midfielder Josh Walker but Moore is likely to resist wholesale changes.

"I am going to rest a couple but we want to win the game and finish the season as well as we can," he said.

"The supporters don't need to worry about us fielding a reserve side – I will play the strongest side I can excluding those two players."

Moore has decided to play goalkeeper Andy Warrington, who wants to maintain his ever-present record this season.

"People have mentioned that I might leave Andy out – but he will play because the chances of a goalkeeper picking up an injury are slim."

The identity of the Millers' semi-final opponents will not be known until after today's games when the final league positions have been confirmed.

If the Millers remain fourth, they will play the side that finishes seventh, currently Dagenham and Redbridge.

"We can't get the top prize, which is automatic promotion, but this is no booby prize," added Moore. "If you are going to win promotion, there is no better place to do it than Wembley."

Opponents Hereford are 17th, safe from the threat of relegation. Chairman and director of football Graham Turner took over as manager for the second time in March after sacking John Trewick.

"Since Graham took over again, Hereford have been magnificent," said Moore. "They have won six out of nine and there will be a party atmosphere so we have to go there and be nice and professional."
