Howells delays team selection due to injury doubts

DONCASTER KNIGHTS' exhaustive fixture schedule has seen them employ extra physio support in a bid to continue their current winning run.

Today's trip to Bedford is the midway point of a punishing schedule incorporating nine games in just 27 days.

Having won the opening four, the Knights have risen to seventh in the Championship, bolstering their chances of reaching the play-off spots. But director of rugby Lynn Howells knows the Bedford test will be the toughest yet and has delayed naming his squad while his medical team perform a number of fitness tests .

"Right now I am considering how we take on Bedford," he said, with a trip to leaders Bristol looming next Wednesday.

"As I have proven by the result against Cardiff, I expect my team to run out looking for the win in every game we play. Every game is the time to bring your A game in my book, there are no easy games at this level."

Rotherham Titans are another side not relenting on their pursuit of one of those play-off places.

Craig West's side host Coventry this afternoon attempting to build on Tuesday's 30-22 triumph over Nottingham.

In National One, Wharfedale head to Stourbridge while Otley are on the road to Cambridge.
