Huddersfield 45 Kendal 22

Huddersfield finally beat their bogey team and extended their unbeaten run to three games.

The Cumbrians have proved a thorn in the side of Huddersfield for several years, winning the previous 10 meetings, including inflicting a 25-17 defeat earlier this season.

But following a battling draw with Hull the previous weekend and the 50-5 crushing of Preston, the home side again showed some of the form that saw them start the season with four wins in the first five matches.

Huddersfield dominated throughout against Kendal and ran in six tries through James Davies, Mark Whitehead, Tom Owen, Nick Sharp, Adam Sutcliffe and Ben Paxman with Chris Johnson adding all the conversions and a penalty.

They have five games remaining, which includes the three sides below them in the table and Hull Ionians, with whom they share 43 points.

So if they can maintain their present form and keep taking the game to their opponents, they could finish in mid-table after a mid-season spell that had them flirting with the possibility of relegation.
