Huddersfield Town v Norwich City: Aiming to ruffle feathers before flying up with Canaries

League one: LEE CLARK admits his ideal scenario come next season will be Huddersfield Town and former club Norwich City being back in the Championship.

The Terriers manager spent a couple of years at Carrow Road as Glenn Roeder's assistant before being lured to the Galpharm in December, 2008.

Since his departure from Norfolk, the Canaries have suffered the ignominy of relegation only to respond in admirable fashion to lead League One with 11 games remaining.

Norwich make today's long trip looking to further cement their standing as table-toppers.

While Clark is determined to put a dent in those hopes, he admits to hoping both clubs can go on to clinch promotion.

He said: "I had a great time down in Norwich. They have magnificent fans who sell out every home game and take a massive following away.

"They deserve the success they have had after a few indifferent years. The league table does not lie. They have won the most matches to be top and they boast a real attacking threat.

"The ideal scenario for me is that the two teams that play today get promoted to the Championship.

"Come May, hopefully that will happen."

Town have suffered their own stumble since the start of March with back-to-back defeats at Southampton and Gillingham having nudged them out of the play-off places.

During those two reverses, Huddersfield conceded seven goals and scored none to bring an 11-game unbeaten run to a shuddering halt.

Despite that, the Terriers chief insists on not being unduly alarmed to find his side sitting two points adrift of sixth-placed Swindon Town, who also have a game in hand.

Clark said: "It has no effect on me because the only time the table matters is on May 8. The table will change so much between now and the end of the season – that is guaranteed because everyone in the top seven has to play each other."

Lee Peltier is set to return to the Town line-up after missing the losses to Southampton and Gillingham with an ankle injury.

Town plan to reveal details of their season ticket prices for the 2010-11 campaign on Thursday when supporters are again expected to be able to take advantage of a cut-price scheme.

Chairman Dean Hoyle said: "We don't know which division we will be playing in next season and we have sought to provide value for League One. But if we are promoted then the prices will be fantastic value."

Huddersfield boast the only remaining unbeaten home record in the Football League, while only today's visitors have scored more goals than the 41 netted by Clark's men in 17 games on home soil this term.

Town can claim to be the great entertainers at home with Norwich having played one more game at Carrow Road.
