Huddersfield Town v Walsall: Time to meet expectations says Clark

League one: LEE CLARK has warned his Huddersfield Town side that any hopes of maintaining a concerted push for promotion will depend on an ability to handle the pressure.

The Terriers are looking to bounce back from a disappointing defeat at Plymouth Argyle when struggling Walsall come to the Galpharm Stadium.

Clark said: "We are at home and Walsall have had an indifferent start to the season, so we will be expected to win.

"That is the expectation level here and I have told the players that if we have any aspirations of getting anywhere this season then we have to be able to handle that.

"I expect my players to be up for it. We will not disrespect the opposition – my opposite number (former Town defender Chris Hutchings) has been in the game a very long time.

"This league is so tight at this moment in time so the biggest boost for me last Saturday was to find we had stayed fifth."
