Huddersfield Town v West Bromwich Albion: Scare tactics could cause Baggies exit

LEE CLARK has called on Huddersfield Town today to use the experience of giving one Championship high-flyer an almighty Cup scare when West Brom arrive at the Galpharm Stadium.

The Terriers came within a whisker of stunning Newcastle United in the Carling Cup earlier in the season when they led 3-1 at St James' Park only to lose 4-3.

Clark said: "Newcastle and West Brom are the top two teams in the Championship at the moment and when we visited Newcastle earlier in the season we took them on.

"We didn't sit back and try to hit them on the break. We went to play attacking football.

"I think everyone in the stadium could see we deserved something from the game. If we can put a similar performance in against West Brom we could get a result and go through to the next round."

Huddersfield will go into today's Cup tie on the back of an excellent home record that has played a major part in the club's surge up League One.

Such notable form on home soil has made Town, fifth in the third tier, the firm favourites to win every game at the Galpharm Stadium this season but Clark insists that will not be the case today.

He said: "Our home form has been magnificent. During my tenure, we have had 27 fixtures at the Galpharm Stadium and only lost two.

"In any situation, that is a terrific return of results. For the first time this season, we are playing at home as underdogs. It will be interesting to see how my players handle the pressure."
