Hutchinson breaks four-year Wiggins mark
Hutchinson, the In Gear-Quickvit rider who lives in London but has been selected to ride at the Commonwealth Games for Northern Ireland, sliced just one second off the four-year-old previous record held by Bradley Wiggins.
On a warm day – perfect for time trialling – and Hutchinson won the event by an impressive 56 seconds from Team Raleigh's Richard Handley of Warrington.

Hide AdThird spot went to youngster Adam Duggleby (I Ride RT) from GIlberdyke who clocked 19-25, while other local riders in the result included Team Swift's Michael Ellerton, fourth in 19-37, James Gullen (Team Wallis CHH) seventh in 19-47, Cottingham Coureurs' Julian Gromett, eighth in 19-49, and Yorkshire Road Club's Ian Fairweather, 10th in 19-59.
Hull rider Joel Wainman won the Elmet CRC 12-Hour time-trial after clocking an impressive 280.04 miles in the event around Pocklington yesterday.
Wainman led Team Swift-Allsports to the team prize, with second-placed Carl Ruebotham from Lancashire and fourth-placed Andy Jackson from Holmfirth completing the winning trio. Scarborough's David Thompson took third spot, foiling Team Swift's bid for one-two-three on the podium.
In criterium racing, Yorkshire riders stole a march on their Lancashire rivals in the Blackburn Grand Prix last week, securing a one-two-three.

Hide AdBarnsley's Ed Clancy won again in the Blackburn event, the Motorpoint-Marshalls Pasta rider sprinting to victory ahead of Doncaster's Graham Briggs (Rapha Condor-Sharp), while his team-mate Dean Downing was third.
Sheffield's Malcolm Elliott took sixth after helping team-mate Clancy to victory, with Keighley's Tom Barras (Team Raleigh) eighth and Wakefield's Richard Hepworth ninth.
Burley in Wharfedale's Scott Thwaites finished fifth in the Andy Poole Memorial Road Race.
