Injury fears for Millers' loan striker

Rotherham United v Burton Albion

League two

ROTHERHAM United manager Ronnie Moore is ready to pull the plug on striker Tom Elliott’s loan deal from Leeds United.

Moore signed Elliott, 19, on a six-month loan deal at the start of the season but has been disappointed with his performances and injury record.

Speaking ahead of today’s game with Burton Albion, Moore said: “If he’s not going to contribute maybe we should think about sending him back to Leeds.

“Players who are quick tend to have tight hamstrings – but there is tight hamstrings and there is a hamstring pull.

“We have got Paul Warne who is 37 and runs around like a two-year-old,” Moore added.

“Tom is 19 and runs around like a 40-year-old. It drives me crackers really.”

Elliott will be unavailable for today’s game after suffering a hamstring injury in last weekend’s defeat at Shrewsbury Town.
