Jarvis brought in to add welcome depth for Leeds

LEEDS CARNEGIE have confirmed the signing of fly-half Adrian Jarvis from Bristol until the end of the Aviva Premiership season.

The 27-year-old linked up with the Leeds squad at training yesterday after playing in Bristol’s 26-16 Championship victory over Birmingham Solihull on Saturday. Jarvis could go straight into Leeds’s squad for Sunday’s Premiership showdown at home to league leaders Leicester.

Director of rugby Andy Key said: “Throughout the season we have identified that fly-half and goal-kicker are two key areas we do not have (enough) cover.

“Adrian has a great deal of experience from his time at Bristol and Harlequins and will give us strength in depth in that position as we face a vital run of games.”

Jarvis has made 43 Premiership appearances and has represented the England Saxons.

Gloucester wing James Simpson-Daniel and London Irish prop Alex Corbisiero and have been added to the England squad preparing for Saturday’s 6 Nations clash with Italy.

Yorkshire’s Simpson-Daniel linked up with the squad as cover for Nick Abendanon, who is struggling with a toe problem.
