Kalla's gold as Hughes, 19, trails in 68th
The 19-year-old from West Yorkshire was competing in her first Winter Olympics.
Sweden's Charlotte Kalla took the gold medal with a time of 10:15.30. Kristina Smigun-Vaehi of Estonia took the silver in 10:08.30 with Marit Bjoergen of Norway claming the bronze in 10:14.00.

Hide AdBritain's Ed Drake finished 43rd in the men's downhill skiing on Whistler Mountain.
Tooting-born Drake, 24, was the 44th starter in a 64-strong field and clocked 1:57.91 on the Dave Murray Downhill course.
It was Drake's first appearance in a Winter Olympics.
Heavy rains have washed away so much snow at Cypress Mountain, venue for the men's and women's snowboard cross events over the the next two days that organisers have been forced to refund general admission tickets because the standing areas had become too dangerous.
