Knights look to end difficult week well

The 22-year-old scrum-half was seriously injured in a car crash last Sunday and remains in a coma.

It has been a tough week for the Knights, one in which matters on the field have been placed into sharp perspective.

“From time to time you can get a little carried away with rugby, but matters like this make you realise it is just a game,” said the head coach who headed straight to the hospital when he learned of the accident.

“It’s been a difficult week for us all, but in fairness to the players they have stuck together. Lee is never far from our thoughts and we all have our fingers crossed.

“We’d like to win for him this weekend but we know it won’t be easy at Moseley.”

To cover the absence of Audis, Doncaster have signed 22-year-old Leeds scrum-half Dan White on an open-ended loan.

Andre Bester has made a number of changes in the pack as Rotherham look to bounce back from defeat to Leeds when they host Plymouth.

The Titans head coach also hands a start to Matt Rhodes at scrum-half in place of Jimmy Williams.

“People have been talking about us taking all five points this week, but I have to keep repeating myself when I say anyone can beat anyone in this league, because it’s true,” he said.

“Plymouth will be no pushover; they will have a spring in their step as they try to impress their new coach Peter Drewett.”

Diccon Edwards has made three changes to his Leeds Carnegie side for the trip to leaders Bristol.

Pete Lucock comes in on the wing while Craig Hampson swaps places with Robbie Shaw at scrum half. Mo Mustafa replaces David Young at prop while loan signing Kane Palma-Newport joins hooker Scott Freer on the bench.
