Knights prepare for tough test against bottom club

A HOME game against Birmingham and Solihull in recent seasons has been marked down in the banker win category, but after the Bees' surprise win against Esher last weekend, nothing will be taken for granted at Castle Park today.

Doncaster Knights are in need of the points themselves as they look to edge away from the Championship's bottom four with Birmingham still bottom but no longer marooned.

Lynn Howells has made two changes to the Knights, drafting in Ollie Goss at centre to replace Chris Briers (stomach bug), while Stuart Corsar edges out Dan Frazier at prop.

Rotherham's trip to Cornish Pirates tomorrow can be watched by spectators at Clifton Lane courtesy of a televised beam back to the clubhouse.

Jonny Hepworth returns to action after suffering concussion in the win over Nottingham four weeks ago. The RFU disciplinary panel's decision this week to only mete out a five-week suspension to Nottingham's Sione Kalamafoni, who was found guilty of kneeing Hepworth in the face, has left Clifton Lane officials fuming.

"We think the player should have been banned for longer and also put on probation to prevent any other players from getting injured in future," said a spokesman.
