Leeds fans' backing vital says Bates

CHAIRMAN Ken Bates believes Leeds United's fans can help their team over the line and into the Championship - by staying patient at Elland Road on Saturday.

If Leeds beat Bristol Rovers at home in their final League One game of the season they will be automatically promoted alongside champions Norwich City.

A draw or defeat would, however, open the door to one of four other teams – Millwall, Charlton, Swindon and Huddersfield Town.

Bates said: "We need the fans to show plenty of patience and let the players know they have the fans' full support."
