Leeds stay has great meaning to Lancaster and Care

Stuart Lancaster says very little has changed from the last time England visited Leeds – other than the expectation.

The 43-year-old former Leeds player and coach brought the national team north for the second year running this week.

Last year he was a novice interim coach. Now he is the man who masterminded a victory over the world champions New Zealand.

He said: “It feels different because at the time last year there was nothing to say I was going to get it beyond April. My mindset hasn’t changed in the sense that a year ago I wanted to get the foundations right and build a team that could develop for the future.

“It’s probably no different, other than the expectation builds with every game.”
