Leeds United players drop charge threat to Carlisle supporters

LEEDS UNITED players have opted against bringing charges against the Carlisle United supporters who attacked them at the end of Tuesday night's JP Trophy Northern Area final at Brunton Park.

United lost the tie on penalties and missed out on the chance to go to Wembley.

Carlisle's victory sparked a pitch invasion and afterwards, Leeds manager Simon Grayson expressed his anger at alleged attacks made upon Shane Lowry, Robert Snodgrass and one other player.

"The club is to forward the evidence at its disposal to both the Football Association and the Football League in relation to the matter so they can consider what action, if any, is required.

"In deciding not to seek charges against Carlisle United supporters involved, the players and the club have asked Cumbria Police to identify the supporters who are shown in the attached pictures making physical contact with Shane Lowry or other players and consider what action should be taken against them."
