Leicester city v Barnsley: Attack on referee costs Barnsley

Championship: BARNSLEY have been fined £1,000 by the Football Association after a match report on the club's official website criticised referee Peter Quinn.

The report, written by the club's press officer Rob Knowles, questioned the integrity of Quinn, who had sent off Barnsley defenders Jason Shackell and Stephen Foster during the match at Hull City last month.

The Tykes visit Leicester City today seeking to build on a midweek victory over Preston North End.

Manager Mark Robins, who spent three years with Leicester as a player, has demanded a far better performance than in the corresponding fixture at Oakwell in November, won 2-0 by the Foxes.

"We didn't really turn up that day, we were lacklustre," he said. "But things have changed since, the team has changed."

Former German international Dietmar Hamann has joined Leicester's backroom staff, linking up again with Sven Goran Eriksson, his former manager at Manchester City.
